Freeze Warning, Lake Wind Advisory

... Lake Wind Advisory in effect from noon today to 6 PM CST this
evening...
... Freeze warning in effect from midnight tonight to 8 am CST
Thursday...

The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a freeze
warning... which is in effect from midnight tonight to 8 am CST
Thursday. A lake Wind Advisory has also been issued. This lake
Wind Advisory is in effect from noon today to 6 PM CST this
evening.

An upper level low pressure system and an associated cold front will
move through the region today. By this afternoon... Arctic high
pressure will begin building in... bringing clear skies... light
winds... and drier air into the region by tonight. This will allow
temperatures to dip into the lower 30s by sunrise on Thursday.
Temperatures will warm above freezing soon after sunrise.

Additionally... surface low pressure to the southeast... and high
pressure to the northwest... will provide a tightening pressure
gradient across parts of East Texas... and northwest Louisiana this
afternoon. Winds will increase to 15 to 20 mph... with gusts to
near 30 at times... by early afternoon.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A freeze warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or
highly likely. These conditions will kill crops and other
sensitive vegetation.

A lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop
on area lakes. Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing.
