The National Weather Service in Fairbanks has issued a

* Flood Warning for ice jam flooding for the Buckland river
at Buckland

* until 300 PM ADT Wednesday

* ice has moved from in front of Buckland and jammed down river.
Water levels continue to increase and have inundated a few
roads. Further rise in water levels is likely until the ice
jam releases. Another ice jam 2 miles up river from the Village
has backed up ice and snowmelt and caused some flooding up river.
If the ice up river releases before the ice jam down river
releases... significant flooding could result and ice chunks
could enter town.

* Flooding of roads and low lying areas in Buckland will continue
until the ice jam below the Village releases.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. Take
necessary precautions immediately.
