.Synopsis for northwest coast... A 985 mb low over central interior Alaska will move northeast of Kaktovik by 4am Sat. A 984 mb low south of Cold Bay will move northeast to be near Kodiak at 4pm Sat.

the main ice edge lies from 25 nm east of Cape Lisburne within 10 nm of the Alaska coast to 145w to 72n 150w to 72.4n 161.2w to 75n 167.8w to 74.2n 175w to wrangel island to 69.2n 179.9e to near 67n along the russian coast. The edge is mainly 1 to 4 tenths new ice.

5 to 7 tenths new ice lies in the shallow waters of Kotzebue Sound. 1 to 2 tenths new ice lies along the coast near Kivalina.

Forecast through Wednesday...seasonal cold temperatures will continue ice development along the Alaska northwest and north coasts. Ice will increase in the shallow waters of Kotzebue Sound and the coast near kivialina. Floes of multiyear ice off the Alaska north coast near 144w may push through new ice along the coast east of 142w early next week.

The October year group and winter outlook will be issued Monday 13 October due to power outages.
