Synopsis
High pressure off the East Coast combined with Hurricane Ida moving northward over the central Gulf will create strong easterly wind flow and high seas through tonight. Seas ranging from 15 to 25 feet will be possible through Tuesday morning. Winds and seas will begin to subside late Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday as Ida moves inland north and east of the region. Please refer to the latest advisories from the National Hurricane Center on Hurricane Ida.

Tropical storm conditions. East winds 25 to 30 knots increasing to 35 to 40 knots in the afternoon. Gusts up to 45 knots. Seas 11 to 15 feet. Bays and coastal waterways very rough. Showers through the day. Isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon.
Tonight
Tropical storm conditions expected. East winds 40 to 50 knots becoming southeast after midnight. Gusts up to 65 knots. Seas 17 to 23 feet. Bays and coastal waterways very rough. Showers and isolated thunderstorms.
Tuesday
Tropical storm conditions expected. South winds 40 to 50 knots with gusts to around 65 knots becoming northwest 35 to 40 knots with gusts to around 55 knots in the afternoon. Seas 12 to 17 feet subsiding to 11 to 15 feet in the afternoon. Bays and coastal waterways very rough. Chance of showers and thunderstorms.
Tuesday Night
Northwest winds 20 to 25 knots becoming north after midnight. Gusts up to 35 knots. Seas 5 to 7 feet subsiding to 3 to 5 feet after midnight. Bays and coastal waterways rough.
Wednesday
North winds 20 to 25 knots. Seas 3 to 5 feet building to 5 to 8 feet in the afternoon. Bays and coastal waterways rough.
Wednesday Night
North winds 20 to 25 knots. Gusts up to 30 knots in the evening. Seas 4 to 6 feet subsiding to 2 to 4 feet after midnight. Bays and coastal waterways rough.
Thursday
North winds 10 to 15 knots. Seas 2 to 3 feet. Bays and coastal waterways a light chop.
Friday
North winds 5 to 10 knots becoming west in the afternoon... then becoming southeast. Seas 2 to 3 feet. Bays and coastal waterways smooth.

Mobile Alabama as of 12 PM CST.

any preparations needed for the protection of life and property. Boat
owners and captains of small craft should rush to completion the
securing of their craft. Any small craft at sea should return to safe
Harbor this morning.

as Tropical Storm Ida approaches... sustained tropical storm force
winds are expected to begin shortly from 20 to 60 nm out and spread
closer to the coast through this afternoon. Tropical storm force
winds are expected to persist through the night into Tuesday morning.
Maximum sustained winds are forecast to be in the 40 to 50 knot range
with gusts to 60 knots.

a few tornadoes are possible in squalls associated with the outer
rain bands of Ida and near the center as it moves across the
coastal and offshore waters later today through tonight.

seas over the Alabama and northwest Florida coastal waters will
increase from 9 to 12 feet near shore to a maximum of 17 to 23 feet
within 20 nm of the coast through tonight. Further offshore from 20
to 60 nm seas will increase from 10 to 15 feet to 21 to 26 feet
through tonight.
