Virgin Islands waters... at 500 PM AST...Hurricane Bertha was located near latitude 23.1 north...longitude 55.8 west...or about 580 miles east northeast of the northern Leeward Islands...moving towards the northwest near 10 knots. Based on the latest forecast track from the National Hurricane Center...Bertha is expected to track some 700 miles northeast of the local waters during the next few days. East northeast swell generated from Bertha will affect the local offshore Atlantic and Caribbean passages through Thursday.
