Synopsis For Flagler Beach To Jupiter Inlet Out 60 Nm-
Synopsis
Tropical Storm Hanna will move northwest offshore and nearly parallel to the East Coast of Florida today. High winds and increased seas will continue today as Hanna makes its closest approach to east central Florida. Seas will slowly subside from tonight through the weekend as high pressure builds over Florida in the wake of Hanna. Hurricane Ike will move into the southern Bahamas this weekend. Refer to official forecasts from the National Hurricane Center.

Tropical storm conditions today. The approximate location of the west wall of the Gulf Stream is temporarily not available.

Tropical storm conditions expected. Northwest winds 30 to 35 knots diminishing to 25 to 30 knots in the afternoon. Gusts up to 45 knots. Seas 18 to 22 feet. Showers and slight chance of thunderstorms.
Tonight
West winds 25 to 30 knots with gusts to around 40 knots diminishing to 15 to 20 knots after midnight. Seas 8 to 12 feet. Chance of showers and slight chance of thunderstorms in the evening.
Saturday
West winds 15 to 20 knots becoming southwest 5 to 10 knots in the afternoon. Seas 5 to 6 feet.
Saturday Night
South winds 5 to 10 knots becoming west after midnight. Seas 5 feet.
Sunday
Northwest winds around 10 knots becoming northeast in the afternoon. Seas 4 to 5 feet.

East winds 5 to 10 knots. Seas 5 feet.

Tropical Storm Hanna is nearing hurricane strength as it moves
away from the east central Florida coastal waters.

this statement provides important information for marine interests
in the following coastal waters... from 20 to 60 nautical miles
offshore from Flagler Beach to Jupiter Inlet.

a Tropical Storm Warning remains in effect for the coastal waters
between 20 and 60 nautical miles offshore between Flagler Beach
and Jupiter Inlet.

At 2 PM... NOAA buoy 4 1 0 0 9 which is located 20 nautical miles
east of Cape Canaveral reported winds at 27 knots gusting to 33 knots
and 14 foot seas. Importantly... area winds and seas were gradually
trending downward as Hanna pulls away.

Also at 2 PM... NOAA buoy 4 1 0 1 0 which is located 120 nautical
miles east of New Smyrna Beach reported winds at 30 knots gusting
to 37 knots and 16 foot seas. Again... area winds and seas were
gradually trending downward as Hanna pulls away.

Tropical Storm Hanna will continue moving quickly north... away
from the east central Florida coastal waters. However... winds
and seas will remain quite hazardous into the late afternoon and
evening until they can more fully subside by Saturday.

Maximum forecast winds continue to be around 35 knots... with
frequent gusts to 45 knots... especially in lingering squalls. The
highest seas will remain between 18 to 22 feet... mainly across
waters closer to the circulation center of Hanna. Conditions will
slowly improve from south to north starting later this afternoon.

Mariners of small craft are urged to remain in port until winds
and seas subside.

Service in Melbourne by around 6 PM EDT... or sooner if conditions
warrant.
