Fire Weather Warning
Statement as of 3:53 PM PDT on October 11, 2008

... Red flag warning in effect from 6 am Monday to 10 PM PDT
Tuesday for gusty winds and low humidity...

The National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard has issued a red
flag warning... which is in effect from 6 am Monday to 10 PM PDT
Tuesday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

Northeast winds 20 to 30 mph with local gusts to 40 mph can be
expected below passes and canyons on Monday. Winds across Los
Angeles County will mainly be confined to locations from Malibu to
the Hollywood Hills. In addition... humidity levels are expected to
lower to around 10 percent on Monday... possibly lowering to single
digits by Tuesday. Even stronger winds are expected to develop
Monday night and Tuesday morning.

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds... low relative humidity... and warm temperatures will
create the potential for explosive fire growth. Please advise the
appropriate officials or fire crews in the field of this red flag
warning.
